How do I wash Chilly Bear?

We recommend to surface wash, gently scrubbing dirty areas. Microwaving your Chilly Bear will kill most bacteria. Do not overheat, remember two minutes maximum. Use gentle, non-oily soap. You do not want to get oils, food, beverages on Chilly Bear and then put in the microwave. If the "stain" burns, so will the material.

We recommend microwaving Chilly Bear regularly or with use. This will kill bacteria. If surface washing, gently clean without submerging in water, and allow to completely dry before microwaving.

Not intended for use by children under age 3 - What is the reason for this warning?

Chilly Bear is approved as "Safe For Use By People Of All Ages" by the nationally recognized safety laboratories of Intertek Labs.

Although Chilly Bear is a safe product for children younger than three years of age, we urge you to be careful and responsible when applying "heat" to infants. Always make sure you have "felt" and "tested" how the bear feels to your skin before placing near children. For young children under age three, we recommend never heating in the microwave more than one minute, and that you test the temperature on your skin assuring that you have not over heated.

Will the corn pop?

No. We use a specific "clean" type of corn product that is not "pop" corn. Our corn product is clean and professionally sterilized by steris / isomedix services for maximum performance.

Can I take Chilly Bear directly from the freezer to the microwave?

Yes. However, for best performance, we advise allowing Chilly Bear to thaw at room temperature (about 30 minutes) before placing in a microwave.

How long will the heat last?

Typically, when microwaved for one to two minutes, Chilly Bear will stay warm for approximately 45 minutes every time you use it.

How long does it take Chilly Bear to reach maximum cold performance?

We recommend placing in the freezer for at least one and a half to two hours to achieve maximum performance as a soft, dry, cold pack.

If the customer damages or mishandles, or purchases a defective Chilly Bear, A-maize-ing, Inc. will replace the Chilly Bear, within 30 days of purchase date (does not include shipping & handling).

How safe is my Chilly Bear?

Great effort and diligence is taken to create a strong and safe product. Seam strength performance for stress, etc. has been performed by Intertek Labs and Precision Labs. Chilly Bear is approved safe for all ages. A-maize-ing, Inc. created an additional safety measure by adding an "inner-lining" to further protect against tearing open or over heating.

It is worth noting that the "fill" is a sterilized all-natural product (corn) and is non-toxic, void of chemicals, plastics and impractical and dangerous "electric" chords. All these precautions taken, people, children particularly, may cause the material to open in extreme "football" or "tug of war", etc. If the shell does open or rip, the customer can easily repair by stitching the hole closed. If it rips open for any reason within the first 30 days, we will back it by our manufacturer's customer purchase guarantee and replace it free.
